Smite

In this multiplayer online battle arena game, you play as Gods and Goddesses fighting to restore order. While most of the gods and goddess you can play don't really pertain to the most popular religions, there are still some pretty important ones like Kali, the Hindu Goddess of death, time and doomsday or Ganesha, one of the main Gods in the Hindu religion still worshipped to this day.

Civilization IV

In the game Civilization IV, players decide whether to create a religion or remain agnostic, but forfeiting potential profit from the use of missionaries and other religious figures. This allows the player, who maintains a leadership position of their nation throughout, a guaranteed bout of success within the boundaries of religious advancement.

Bioshock Infinite

Bioshock Infinite, a game of Irrational Games opens with a heavily religion based narrative and maintains religious subtext throughout. The main character is baptised, giving the impression of a Christian ideal in this so-called perfect world. This game is a part of such a successful series and still having such a strong religious undertone and being published by one of the worlds largest game publishers (2K Games) shows that popularity may not hinder the production of a game that includes what seems to be a dominant religion.

Mass Effect

In the game Mass Effect, the main idea behind the protagonist is the whole Noah’s Ark perspective. The world has come to be a place of sin and needs a restart so to speak. Religious tales and stories can often play a part in the advancement of the story in a video game. Sometimes this can be from multiple religions and sometimes it can be just one. These are not specifically giving an opinion on a religion, just using an idea to expand on their own.​

Far Cry 5

Most games will usually not come right out and talk about religion, but Far Cry 5 does right from the get-go with a trailer depicting a religious cult as the villain group in the game. Usually, games do not make white American’s the main protagonist in a game but this is not the case for Far Cry 5. Almost solely showing radical Christian believers, this game will include what is assumed to be very strong Christian ideals and will definitely shine a negative light on Christianity.

The Binding Of Issac

The Binding of Isaac can be viewed as a game that is anti-Christian. While yes, there are many showings of non-religious pretences such as using the bible to your own advantage it also shows the good of Christianity. In a lot of ways, Christian symbols are helpful and comforting in the game providing safety.
